# Should Private Wells be Tested for PFAS?

Private wells aren’t covered by federal rules and regulations that monitor or limit the amount of per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) in drinking water. Yet, private wells are just as susceptible to PFAS contamination as Public Water Systems. In some cases, even more so.
