US EPA Information Collection Rule (ICR) Proposal for PFAS and NPDES

The US EPA has recently made a significant move affecting the country's NPDES program concerning PFAS by introducing a new Information Collection Rule (ICR) proposal. In this 45 -minute presentation, Paul R. Jackson, Program Manager for Environmental Compliance and Emerging Contaminants, will delve into how this proposal will impact POTWs and industrial dischargers, along with discussing the analytical testing requirements that the EPA plans to implement.

We anticipate the EPA will rely on the 1633 method for specific compound analysis and the 1621 for Adsorbable Organic Fluorine. The Adsorbable Organic Fluorine method can provide valuable insights for wastewater professionals and consultants conducting pilot studies on complex waste streams. Additionally, we will examine industrial discharge data from tests using both EPA 1633 and EPA 1621, comparing the results and conclude with a question-and-answer session.
